Engagement Photoshoot in Galle – Naji & Pasindu’s Story in Sri Lanka

Updated: Apr 6

I spent three and a half unforgettable weeks traveling solo around Sri Lanka; honestly, it was one of the best experiences of my life. The island amazed me with its diverse landscapes, warm-hearted people, and a sense of peace I hadn’t felt in a long time. From breathtaking sunrises by the ocean to the lush green tea plantations and ancient cities full of stories, Sri Lanka truly stole my heart.

One of the most memorable moments of my journey was an engagement photoshoot in Galle with Naji and Pasindu. We woke up before sunrise to catch the soft morning light and to photograph this beautiful couple before the tourist crowds arrived. The early wake-up call was so worth it—the quiet streets and historical charm of Galle Fort created the perfect backdrop for their love story.

For Pasindu, this place holds deep meaning—he grew up here and shared stories from his childhood as we walked through the old alleys and coastal walls. It was clear how much this location meant to him. Now, bringing his fiancée here to capture their engagement session in Sri Lanka made it even more special.

They were so warm and kind, already deep in the middle of planning their wedding. Their connection was beautiful to witness, and photographing them felt more like spending time with new friends than working. It reminded me once again how photography and traveling have the power to connect people across cultures and continents.
